Engine Oil Additives

Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC offers a range of additives to meet demanding lubrication needs for manual transmission, synchromesh system, automatic transmission, axles and differentials. Vanderbilt provides high performance friction modifiers that could increase drivability reduce clutch slipping, reduce chatter noise and improve torque transmission. Our excellent antiwear additives provide excellent wear protection of gears. The broad range of antioxidants offered by Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC provide excellent protection against oil thickening and prevent vanish and deposit formation. Vanderbilt also provides effective corrosion inhibitors to prevent corrosion, rust and pitting of gear systems.
Metal Working Fluid Additives
Creation of new shapes/designs and materials of construction in the metal working process often results in high friction, high temperature and tool wear. Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC provides specialized additives to meet these new demands being placed on the metalworking lubricant. Our range of high performance corrosion inhibitors can minimize the ferrous and non-ferrous alloys corrosion by water. We also offer a wide range of extreme pressure, friction reducer and antiwear additives to enhance lubricity and extreme pressure performance and thereby reduce friction and wear between cutting tool and work piece.
Gear Oil Additives
Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC provide specialized additives to assist the lubricant manufacturer in meeting industrial specifications for gear oil. Today the industrial development trend is toward gears operating under heavy loads and higher temperatures, smaller sumps and higher power density. Our uniquely designed extreme pressure, antiwear additives and corrosion inhibitors can help our customers to improve efficiency and productivity. We also formulate customized cost effective gear additive packages that can enhance EP performance, micropitting resistance, oxidative properties, and lower sludge-forming tendency. At the same time, our special gear oil additives can reduce oil consumption and extend machinery life and thereby reduce cost of operation.
Turbine Oil Additives
Turbines have become increasingly compact in design and run under more vigorous conditions. Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC offers a wide range of high temperature antioxidants, rust inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, antiwear and extreme pressure additives to satisfy the demanding requirement of modern, high output turbines and their components. Our high temperature antioxidants have shown excellent reduction in varnish formation in modern gas turbines.
Hydraulic Oil Additives
Today industrial development trends are toward smaller, hotter, more compact and overloaded hydraulic systems with high power transfer requirements. This results in significantly extending the severity of operation of hydraulic equipment. Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC offers a broad range of antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors, antiwear and extreme pressure additives to lubricate the critical hydraulic system components such as pump, control valves, motor / actuators. We also offer excellent friction reducers and antiwear to reduce friction and prevent wear of sliding vane, piston or gear pumps.
Compressor Oil Additives
Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC provides a broad range of additives to serve the lubrication requirement of reciprocating, rotary and turbo type compressors. Our series of antioxidants prevent varnish and sludge formation and retard corrosion of alloy bearings. We also supply a series of corrosion inhibitors as well as antiwear additives to provide longer lubricant change interval, extended oil filter life, extended overhaul and less downtime.

Ester Base Stocks
Vanderbilt Chemicals’ Lubricant Additive Division offers TruVis® adipates, trimellitates and polyol esters produced by Teknor Apex. These esters can be used as basestocks (co-basestocks) and additives in various lubricant applications. Vanderbilt has done extensive testing of our lubricant additives in TruVis ester (Group V) base oils and bench marked their performance in various lubricant applications.
